We started 004 with the discussion “Making Money with Your Music: Music licensing for TV/flim & video games.” Jeff Straw (Director of Licensing & Partnerships, INgrooves), a co-creator of Test Press, led the discussion with Brooke Wentz (Music Supervisor, The Rights Workshop), Brian Trifon (Composer/Producer, Trifonic) and brother Laurence Trifon (Manager, Trifonic) on the business of music licensing. After the summit, we had a nice mixer (with some tasty treats from Oola) and a product demo from the great people at PreSonus. We got to check in on their software (StudioOne and Capture) and some great hardware (like the Eureka preamp/channel strip and their FireStudio Mobile) in Pyramind’s fantastic HD suite.

The night ended with Test Press, the music review session. Sara Cooper, Nikola Baytala, and Michael “Boz” Bosley were on hand to give their two bits to all the submitted tracks and gave top honors to MitraMusic, congratulations.

“What’s Shaking Down SF Music Venues?”

What does the future hold for San Francisco’s nightlife? The venues, artists and musicians who spend their lives dedicated to music and the fans who enjoy it are being threatened by the actions of the California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC). Hear about the issues first hand from top representatives in SF’s music nightlife including club owners and city representatives and get involved in a group discussion. Learn about the challenges facing our community and find out how you can get involved.

This discussion will be moderated by Michael Winger, the current SF Chapter Secretary for the Recording Academy. Other speakers include:
