Our favorite non-profit partner NextAid, an organization that uses the power of dance music to affect change in the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children in Africa, will launch its 3rd Annual Online Auction BIDS BUILD HOPE in honor of World AIDS Orphans Day. Kicking off on May 7th, 2010 and closing on May 31st, BIDS BUILDS HOPE will raise awareness and funds for NextAid’s projects in Kenya and South Africa. Auction items will reflect NextAid’s strong foundation within the dance music community and commitment to sustainable and “green living.”
Auction item highlights include the Richie Hawtin Gear Package: supported by Native Instruments, Ableton and Minus w/ products from Traktor Pro, Allen & Heath, Roland, Rimowa, and Midi Solutions, DJ tutorial and music education classes from Dubspot, and an unforgettable cruise for two aboard the infamous Groove Cruise. Other donors include Louie Vega, Putumayo Records, OM Records, ESDJCO, Strange Invisible Perfumes, Nau, Cielo, Natural High Lifestyle, Bodega Wine Bar (LA), Nook Bistro (LA), supperclub (SF), and Hollywood Improv. Items will continue to be added up until the launch of the auction, as more donors jump on board.
